Bend!

I finally made it to Bend! I had heard about how cool it is and how much like Colorado it is. So Mark and I journeyed over the
river and thru the woods to Bend! On the way we stopped and had dinner and hung out with his brother and family. We played with the kiddos and got the eat some amazing Pad Thai. Mmmm...

Mark's BFF Dan was part of Bend's Winterfest and so we got free passes into the event and got to hang out on the Rail Jam course- which is what Dan gets to do for a living (lucky duck). We also went to tour Deschutes Brewery and play in the snow! I was a little more thrilled than Mark was about the snow storm.
Unfortunately because of my sucky work schedule, we had to cut the party short and head back to Portland on Saturday. But it was a good trip and we had lots of fun. We have a weekend in Dallas this weekend, then a week in Santa Fe and CO after that. Good thing we like eachother or one of us might end up strangled to death in an overhead compartment.

Old Slides

My parents sent me a bunch of pictures they converted from slides. I think they are pretty awesome and funny. So here you go...

Butch, our faithful companion and bear chaser.

Dad- the sexy skinny kid in the middle.

Kyle and I showing the fashions of the 80's.

Check out those patches on the knees.

Kyle. There's no caption worthy of this picture.

My rents, aunts and uncles. And short shorts.

Yeah, I was good at accessorizing.

Grandpa!

This was before I was born. Well I hope so.

Something or other

It's been a few weeks since I blogged, and since I need to keep my 6 readers happy, I guess I'll find something to write about.

Life has been all sorts of up and down lately. My birthday was bittersweet. Had a fun day with Emily, Mark and Brendan. I got lots of love from all my work peeps, and most importantly THE SUN CAME OUT! All day. I'm not kidding. I would not kid about this. It was glorious! On the other hand, spending my birthday without my family or my flock of friends, or at least a trip to New Belgium was pretty sad. But one Amanda Jamison wins the prize for best birthday present. She sent me the most epic South Korean care package with the most random/ funny/ delicious/ horribly translated goodies inside. Pics to follow... don't fret.

And my favorite... the toilet sign. Mark really likes this on the guest bathroom door.

In other news...

I have made the decision to move out of my apartment. Living in a place where you are constantly not welcome and absolutely dreading going to everyday is not a home. This living situation has been the most consistantly stressful thing in my life and I have finally decided that I have to end it. So we are both trying to find someone to finish out my lease, and please please please cross your fingers it all works out- sooner rather than later. I am trying to find where my next home will be, though I will admit hell seems like an upgrade from what I have now.

I got called up to the big leagues... and by big leagues I mean that wonderous place called "full time work." My boss' boss- the head of the entire Employee Health Department- called me and offered me a few projects building the SharePoint sites for 3 departments within Providence. A SharePoint site is a site on Providence's internal website (employee-only site). It's a basic webpage which eash department has to add to to make it unique/ functional for all employees. I know what you must be thinking... "but kelly, you have a degree in Health and Exercise Science- how did you land this?" Well, the answer is... no clue. I worked on the SharePoint site for my department as an intern...and they must have payed attention. But I will not complain- i enjoy being creative and also the fact they are trusting me with sites for 14,ooo people to see. yikes!

We are coming to Colorado. Get your tickets and make your reservations now, because Mark and I are coing to CO in March. My good friend Cristina from camp (yeah, I just said from camp) is getting married in Santa Fe, so we are meeting a few other camp friends down there for the weekend, then flying up to CO for a few more. I am very excited to show Mark off and introduce him to all my friends and he gets to... dun dun dun... meet the parents. It would be more entertaining if my parents and/or brother were at all intimidating. Oh well!

Well, that's the best update I have for now. I'll add pictures when I get the patience to deal with the dumb photo uploader thing. Miss you all and don't feel bad if you forgot my birthday. I will be accepting gifts all year long! :)
